Elvis Events For The Ultimate Fans
There is more to celebrating Elvis than just listening to his music, or starting your own anthology of Elvis Presley collectables; each year many fans come together for Elvis gatherings in countless areas all over the world. We’ve found some of these events so you can attend one close to home or even take a trip abroad to plan around your next holiday.
International Elvis Championship
The International Elvis Championship is held each year in England in the central location of Birmingham [1]. It is held over the weekend of his Birthday, running every year from the 6th to 8th of January. The best way to imagine this event is to picture 70 of the world’s top Elvis tributes, battling it out for the title of International Champion. There is more to the weekend than just the competition. The event features live bands, showcases, and even a disco. It’s where to go if you love the King of Rock N Roll!
Elvis Party Event
The awesome Elvis Party Event is another located in the UK in September [2], this time in the Golden Sands Holiday Resort in Mablethorpe. As the event lasts for a week, guests will have many opportunities to enjoy the music of Elvis Presley, as well as other associated events. In typical seaside resort style, there is bingo and discos, but this time with an Elvis themed twist. If it all gets too much, there is a beach across the road from the caravan accommodation that has your name on it.
Elvis Cruise
This event takes us abroad this time, to the sunshine destination of Florida and the Caribbean. This will be the 4th annual cruise, where passengers will set sail to Elvis themed entertainment, including presentations from Elvis’s friends . Some travel providers include a Florida short break on either side of the cruise, to combine the attractions of Florida with the very themed boat trip. The Elvis Cruise is most suited to you if you’ve always wanted to see Florida or the Caribbean; and of course if you love Elvis.
Elvis 2010
There are two destinations where fans can celebrate this event, either in Memphis USA, or Bad Nauheim in Germany. The more authentic choice is the Memphis trip in August, where Elvis Week takes place [4]. Visitors to Elvis Week will be able to choose from various events ,which celebrate his life and success. Aside from live acts, tribute artists, and discussions, visitors will also be able to visit Graceland where Elvis used to live. True Elvis Presley fans will be in attendance here, so book early to join in the fun.
